Meet Globby, the Purple Thing

Posted by Tati on Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 at 2:57 am

This is Globby – the Purple Thing. And he would love to hear you saying “Hi, Globby” in front of your computer right now. Come on! Don’t be shy… Ready? So, let’s say: “Hi, Globby”!
Emmm, he can’t hear you. Can you say it louder, please? Ok… Let’s do it together: “HI, GLOBBY”!
He’s just one of my failed experiences, trying to mould with a kind of epoxy resin called Durepoxi. It’s not easy as I thought… Actually my intention was to do something really cool: one of my characters, a doll, etc. Then, I gave up and decided to make a… thing. Well, we can imagine he’s Blue Thing‘s brother, anyway.

Drawing Bruce

Posted by Tati on Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at 1:57 am

Last week, a New York based artist model called Bruce, aka maxnix, commented in my Drawing The Human Body blog post. He left some links of his Picasa album, with pictures of him, and said he would love to see any art made by myself with those images. I found it very interesting!
Well… These are just some doodles, but I hope you like, Bruce! Thank you for this experience! If you don’t mind, let me share some info about you with my 5 readers… :P
Meet Bruce Kocher (Not Dickinson – but if he wants to pose naked for me too, NO PROBLEM!), model, actor and real state seller. You can see some pics in his Flickr album and some films here. He’s good!

A Little Talkative Today

Posted by Tati on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 11:55 pm

Well, well, well… I am very happy about this blog and trying to keep it updated almost daily. Of course I’m not obligated to post every day, but I want to do it to make me more focused in my art – like a therapy. I’m not graduated, nor even on college. So, being self-taught, I need to draw, draw and draw. I’ve been feeling a little sick lately (nothing to worry about), because of that I am working a little slowly.
The drawing above is from my sketchbook (“colours” on Photoshop). It seems pencil, but actually this is my good and old ballpoint pen.

Bruce Dickinson Caricature

Posted by Tati on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 3:17 am

I am one of Bruce Dickinson’s biggest fans, and that’s the caricature I made, years ago (2006). I like to do it sometimes, and I think I’m good drawing people. This is one of my favourites, because we can see that’s really Bruce (By the way, he thanked himself for this caricatureĀ in his radio show!). It scares me a little, because, it seems like he’s looking at me!
This quote is from anĀ Iron Maiden’s song called Chains of Misery.

My Acrylic Paintings…

Posted by Tati on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at 7:07 pm

I’ve been busy… Ok, I already said that! Anyway… Just stopping to show all stuff I’m working on: retouching My Balloon, Musik and Tooongue; creating new paintings and original arts; and making a sample of my Caricature on Canvas commission project (By the way, this one wearing a Batman t-shirt is my husband, Fernando) – I’ll speak about it soon, but if you’re interested, email me. Painting is really relaxing, I’m enjoying and having a lot of fun!

Drawing The Human Body

Posted by Tati on Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 4:40 am

Human body is complex… Curves, muscles, shapes, hands, feet, face… Wow! Because of that I love to study anatomy more than buildings, landscape, or even perspective. Female or male nude are really fascinating!
So, to help me, I get some magazines (Yes, Playboy magazines. That’s why I’m good at drawing female nude. Well, I would love to get at least one male nude magazine, but they are all gay magazines!) and photos on internet – like GettyImages.com.
The sketches above are some studies using images from PoseManiacs.com as reference. This site is amazing, I totally recommend! If you’re like me, and don’t have a model to pose for your sketches or paintings, that’s a good help.

Some Sketches From My Sketchbook

Posted by Tati on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 at 1:36 am

Well… I’ve been busy lately, retouching my paintings, creating new ones, choosing some illustrations to become prints and painting greeting cards… Everything for my online store that I want to launch this month – hope so. So, I’m just sharing some doodles from my sketchbook. Yeah, I really love ballpoint pen and felt markers! And create characters too… Check out the top left corner, and meet my Catarrh Monster! Cute, eh?

Thinking…

Posted by Tati on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at 7:06 pm

Does this illustration reminds you something? Yeah, I decided to paint that. Pink, black, white and grey… those colours are a good combination. Well, I missed her shoulder before, but added now, as you can see. And… I love this one!

Studying Composition

Posted by Tati on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at 10:56 am

Here I go again, sharing more one drawing of my sketchbook. I believe you noticed that I like to draw women and cute characters, didn’t you? Yes, I do.
This one (which I didn’t name yet), I tried to apply my poor knowledge of composition. The “supermodel” looks pretty good (no pics as reference, again), but I have to confess I’m a bit confused about all those weird stuff behind her. Well, nothing like study more to improve it!
