Tati, the Artsy

Oh, my mom! My nose is really big… Uh! Sorry! Emmm… Well, let me share something really cool! This is a pendant that Angie of agasunset sent me as gift. Beautiful, eh? Of course I sent something to her too: an ACEO watercolor painting. But this stupid girl (me) forgot to scan it or even take a photo (speaking about it… I’m not so good at photography. Sorry for the bad quality). Anyway… I love Etsy, you know!

Thank you very much, Angie! I am not a jewelry fan, but you have original stuff, and got a future customer!

“Hello?”
“Hello, is this number from a pizza restaurant?”
“Sorry, madam, here’s not a pizza restaurant.”
“Oh, but this number was from a pizza restaurant!”
“Yeah, it was. But it is not anymore.”
“But… This number was from a pizza restaurant…”
“Madam… What can I do? Make a pizza for you?”

I really hate answering the telephone! Just to let you know, this is not a joke. It really happened.

I know, I know… I am becoming the queen of unfinished works, but this one is very special. I did it hours ago and for some reason I can’t stop looking at this woman’s face. As you can see, I can’t finish the other parts of this drawing either. Oh, no… I don’t even know this woman; she’s just my creation, without references.

Should it be her eyes? Well, they’re very expressive, indeed. Must be. Or, the red color? Hmmmm… I don’t know. What do you think? Anyway, this is a doodle I did in my sketchbook using colored pencils. That’s a very useful material; better than graphite pencils, I believe. Would you like to see this artwork finished? Oh, me too… me too… I will try to avoid her hypnotic look, and let you know about the final version very soon.

Speaking about works in progress: the “Do You Want Some Coffee?” tiny painting is almost done. I stopped because I’m working in a commission for one of my Facebook friends, a great guy from UK, very patient too – that’s the first time I’m doing a painting commission in a large canvas. And, speaking about Facebook… I have a Fan Page now!!! If you like my stuff, follow me! I don’t like to bother people sending newsletters or email them about my little business. Rather prefer using this sort of thing, you know.

Okay, time to go. Dexter and Spock are too quiet. I really don’t like it… Hugs!

Today, 12th October, is the Children’s Day in Brazil. This is me, in São Bernardo do Campo – SP, where I was born, 1984. I was one year old and quite photogenic, he he!

I just would like to say that the child inside me never died.

“I am not lazy, I just don’t like to work on something in vain.”

Marcos Viana, my dad. You know, like father, like daughter…

Okay, this is not really a Moleskine… Not the original one. But *finally*, a brazilian company, called Tilibra is making sketchbooks and notebooks exactly like the Moleskines. It’s cool, because now I can buy a nice book for a good price, without waiting for the postman. I’ve been planning to have one for months. Surprisely while walking to the supermarket, I saw it in a store! I couldn’t think twice and bought it!

So, let me share some of my doodles… That one above is one of my studies of men’s body. I love black guys, they’re gorgeous and hot as hell! Of course I like all kind of men; my husband is blonde, by the way. But black guys’ bodies are perfect! And, also, I love dreadlocks.

Watercolor and ball point pen are really cool. They’re my favourite materials ever! For sketches and practicing, I use my paint set, not the tube paints. But they look fine, don’t they? I’m thinking about working more on these doodles, add more art, scanning in a high quality and make prints of them… Do you like this idea? Please, let me know.

I need to draw more… to paint more… and blog more as well. I think my drawings aren’t so good yet. There are always something wrong: anatomy, painting technique… etc. Well, I’m still 27; I have time to get better.

That’s all, folks. Stay tuned for more sketches and cool creations. Have a nice week!

Black short hair, lost some weight… That’s the new me. Triviality… Just sharing… :)

…I woke up at 12am and worked in this tiny painting – entitled Do You Want Some Coffee?. It just need a few details to be finished – and I just need some time to do it! Hmmm… I think I’m such an artist-zombie or something. Waking up in the middle of the night to paint an artwork… Am I crazy? By the way, have you noticed my wet palette? That’s a very nice way of keeping the paint wet – it really works! If you want to know how to do it… Watch this video!

PS.: I’m thinking about making this blog a bit more personal… And have so much to tell you! Yeah, I can’t stop blogging! It’s stronger than I!!!

My family has a new member! Oh, no… I’m not pregnant. I don’t even have plans of having a child – well, not now. I’m talking about my new puppy, Spock! He’s a cute-docile-lovely 3 months old Maltese, that we brought because Dexter (our 1 year old Shih Tzu) was needing a friend companion. I should have posted it before, but I didn’t have time for blogging, sorry. Spock arrived 15 days ago – I guess – and he’s doing pretty well in his new home!

Differently of Dexter, he’s quite restless. And, living 3 months in a kennel, he didn’t have the same Cesar-Milanesque education we (Nando and I) gave to Dexter. Then, Spock was bossing his older brother around, but not being aggressive at all. He was just stealing food, water and toys. Dexter, instead of defending his stuff, walks as if he’s saying “ok, never mind” and lies on his spot. It was very difficult to make him eat his food again. Fortunately it didn’t take so long and now they are great friends!

By the way, when Spock arrived home, Dexter thought it was the wold’s most wonderful thing. He couldn’t stop to follow and lick the little one! We told this story to the veterinarian and he said that “Dexter will be a good father”. So, all that licking thing was just to stimulate Spock for doing pee and poo (which he was holding).

As a nice mom I am, I don’t like to compare my “babies”. But certainly there’s a good difference between both dogs. Things we were missing in Dexter, like stay on lap and being kinder, we found in Spock. Well, of course our tiny maltese (he’s really tiny) has some defects too. I’ll not cite them, because my angels’ defects are qualities! Particularly, I’m loving this personality difference. The mess is double, and they drive me crazy, but I’m not regret! Dogs are cool!

Just stopping to share a new tiny acrylic painting project, entitled “Do You Want Some Coffee?” (inspired in this sketch I’ve posted months ago)… Last week was very productive: the Bloody Heart watercolor, studies about selling online, sketches and doodles in my sketchbook. And I really hope I can finish this one until friday, because my housewife life is still messing up all my plans of making my artistic life a full time job. But, my goal now is doing at least a painting or illustration per week. That’s a little easy, eh? I’m not good at those daily things, so, let’s see if I can have a weekly project!

I am engaged with my work. Finally I’m addicted to something good that will give me results someday. When I am sad and downhearted, I spend some time on Etsy.com and it gives me courage to keep doing my stuff. And also, makes me understand what are my defects (of course I am working to decrease them).
