Another illustration I did using Inkscape. I just retraced one of the acrylic tiny paintings I’ve done in the beginning of 2010.
This version is even better, don’t you think?
Prints? Yeap! Here…

I’ve heard a lot about Inkscape, an open-source vector editor, but never have tried it for real. And for some reason, Illustrator stopped working… It doesn’t open anymore! So, I thought that’s the time to try Inkscape once and for all!
The illustration above is one you should know: Do You Want Some Coffee? It was just a digital-colored sketch, and then became a tiny painting experience.

I didn’t like both artworks. But the concept of coffee coming out the finger is cool – at least for me. So, I decided to discover if a vector version of it would be a better idea.
Inkscape’s interface reminds me Corel Draw’s. Actually, it seems that the open-source guys put the best vector editor’s features on it! And, the best part: it’s SO user friendly! Fast, simple, intuitive… I LOVE IT!
About using it professionally… Well, why not?

That’s the Do You Want Some Coffee? acrylic painting… I gave up finishing this piece. I will just fix some things, and hang it in my studio’s wall.

10th June was the Etsy Craft Party! I thought a lot about what to do… Live drawing? A painting? Well, actually I missed this event, even waiting that so much since the beginning of this month. Hmmmm… I’m not good at remembering dates. What day is today? Anyway… It’s better I use Google Calendar more often!
But… Hey! I did something! Finally painted the ACEO drawings I posted months ago! So, nobody can say I didn’t have my Craft Party!

I think my illustrations are having finally a Tati personality! This “ink plus digital colors” technique is really cool. I like it! And you? Simple, but there’s something… emmm… classy.
Daisy is not someone I know. She came from my mind. The best part of being creative is that I am a kind of God of my own world. A colored and weird world, actually. Where everything is possible and easier… No problems at all! Hahahaha!
Well… Back to the real world.

Blogs are awesome! I’ve been blogging for years, and don’t remember how many I have created and deleted. Looking my backup DVDs days ago, I found the archive of one I wrote in 2004/2005. What a nostalgic reading! I think I know almost all blog platforms on web: Blogger, WordPress.com, WordPress.org, Tumblr… Love trying everything online! Tatimaia.com is a self hosted WordPress blog, but it had a Blogspot url before. There are people who don’t like Blogger, but, honestly, I think it’s really good too. I have a crush on it, and tried to use my account for personal stuff. But I’m not so patient. Well, you know, I’m an unquiet and creative mind… So, I always close this kind of stuff. Meh! I’m sure I will open another one, someday. And delete again! LOL
But, this one, my official, lovely and not-often-updated blog will not be closed. Actually, I’m planning a big layout change and also learning some SEO strategies. Let’s see if it works.
The best part of blogging is meeting other bloggers. And I am very pleased to help my comrades! The illustration above I did for Nadine‘s Blog. In my portfolio and shops’ images, you can see some more I have drawn.

Aloha! I’m alive and back to the blogging life!
The illustration above is one of my personal projects, entitled Kisses. Actually that’s a remake of an old one with new background. Everything was done using my Wacom Bamboo.
Also… I’d like to let you know that prints of some illustrations – including Kisses – are available in my Society6 shop!
Update:
My Twitter username is now @tatiartsy. If you already follow me, I hope you have noticed that!

Fernando Aureliano, my husband, is designing his blogs, and these are the illustrations I did of him. The first and the ninja ones are for his portfolio; and the third is for his blog about OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Yeah, I’m married to a blogger, iPad programmer and web developer that suffers from OCD… and love him so much! <3

That’s one of the coolest Cartoon Of You commissions that I’ve been working last month: a gift from Klaus Schuller for Caitlin Howden, one of The Second City‘s actors that are playing Something Wicked Awesome This Way Comes in Toronto. Yeah, you read it right! I said The Second City – the great theatre company! Pretty cool, eh?
From left to right: Steve, Mark, Kris, Adam, Caitlin, Dale, Rob and Inessa. Wow! I still remember their names!

I love the way that internet connects me with people from countries that I’ve never been. Oh, I would love to see them playing; they look so funny at the reference pics! We don’t have something like that in Brazil. You, canadians and americans are lucky! But, I am planning to visit Toronto in 2011 and watching The Second City’s spectacle is the first item in my list!
Thanks, Klaus! Very cool to work with you!

If you follow me on Twitter, you must know that I’ve been very busy this month, working a lot on illustrations and commissions which unfortunately I couldn’t share or show any sketch. But, finally I can do it! One of the coolest works I’ve done are the Elo7‘s illustrations! Above, just a banner for the Shampoo de Laranja blog; below, a couple of Twitter illustrations.

As I’ve told you, Elo7 is a brazilian site for buying and selling handmade stuff. Yes, exactly like Etsy. It’s a great opportunity that happened to me: just opened my shop there, and the Admins loved my stuff so much that they ordered those artworks! I’m so lucky, am I not?

Don’t you find this blonde girl so cute? And the blue bird? I do! I do! I really love her and the way my style is getting better. I know I am such a multi-artist, but that’s my favorite technique. Doing this sort of thing makes me very, very happy!
All right… Portuguese mode on…
Obrigada, Elo7! Tô bem feliz de ter criado a menininha pra vocês, e espero poder ajuda-los mais vezes.
Praqueles interessados: minha lojinha, onde vendo pinturas, Prints, caricaturas, etc, é tatimaia.elo7.com.br!
