Just stopping to share a new tiny acrylic painting project, entitled “Do You Want Some Coffee?” (inspired in this sketch I’ve posted months ago)… Last week was very productive: the Bloody Heart watercolor, studies about selling online, sketches and doodles in my sketchbook. And I really hope I can finish this one until friday, because my housewife life is still messing up all my plans of making my artistic life a full time job. But, my goal now is doing at least a painting or illustration per week. That’s a little easy, eh? I’m not good at those daily things, so, let’s see if I can have a weekly project!
I am engaged with my work. Finally I’m addicted to something good that will give me results someday. When I am sad and downhearted, I spend some time on Etsy.com and it gives me courage to keep doing my stuff. And also, makes me understand what are my defects (of course I am working to decrease them).

My first watercolor painting which was finished tuesday, entitled Bloody Heart. It measures 20.9 x 29.5 cm (approx. 8.2 x 11.6 inches – almost an A4 size) and was inspired in one of my mindless doodles. So cool when it happens, eh? Good ideas coming from a relaxed mind… No stress at all. I love it!
I haven’t listed it in my shop yet. But, it’s available there very soon.

Instead of doodling in my sketchbook, I’m doing that in a blank (not anymore, as you can see) paper that supposed to be for notes. But, you know what? It’s so cool! From now on, that’s what I’m going to do… Always have a blank paper near from me. The best part: mindlessly some work is done. XD
You’re going to see some of those doodles as illustrations really soon! I’d like to mention also that I have a Linkedin profile and I’m a new member of Doodlers group!
Oh, for those who copy other artists, please, don’t steal my art!

My husband and I are totally nerds (and geeks). Our conversations are 90% about comics, movies, books, tv series, Apple stuff, web and everything unusual for normal couples. Last week, for some reason I don’t remember, we were talking about super heroes and instinctively I started to doodle this illustration: Dexter wearing a Batman costume!
Isn’t my baby the cutest Shih Tzu ever?

Tell me the truth… Have it already happened to you? If so, say “yeeeeeearghhh”… Step in a bubble gum, in my opinion, is one of the world’s worst things ever! Just imagine that: you’re walking the streets, listening to your iPod, totally disconnected from this world… then, you feel something under your shoe sticking to the floor! I reeeeeeeeally hate that! That’s why I always put the chewed bubble gums in the trash can. And I hope you do it too… When we do it, we’re saving lives!
I created this artwork years ago, maybe 2007, for a t-shirt contest but it didn’t win. As I told you, I never won any contest! I’m not lucky at all… Anyway, that was a nice time, because I was in a “vector mood” and Bubble Gum is one of some cool artworks I did, like Voodoo Doll, Little Bird, etc, etc (all of them in my portfolio). Nowadays I am in this painting and sketching mood, but I’m thinking about back to the vector side. I’m not a good fan of it, actually. However, I think my best creations are vectors.

And… What a nice surprise this morning: my Bubble Gum being featured at Imagekind home page! Well, explaining… You can purchase prints (posters, canvas prints, framed prints and greeting cards) at tatimaia.imagekind.com! Cool, eh? I’m very happy, because that’s the first time I’ve been featured anywhere. That’s really gratifying! It means that my stuff is good, and better: people are liking that! Oh, thank you very much if you like it too. You know, it’s very frustrating when we promote, promote, promote our stuff, tried everything and have no feedback (HELLO, ETSY! \o/). So, I’m so glad about that because I am a newbie at Imagekind, my account there is the free one and I haven’t promoted my prints yet! That’s fair enough, don’t you think?
By the way, speaking about promoting… Prints are cool and cheap, but nothing better than original and unique artworks. If you like handmade art, or want something specially made for you, check out my Art Shop at tatimaia.etsy.com!

Last night I created my own Treasury on Etsy (yeah, I have a profile/shop there too), featuring only handpainted artworks. It’s entitled Original Art, and, if you love art as I do, please, take a look.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve seen many artists complaining that it’s so hard selling paintings on Etsy. Then, let’s promote the original artworks and keep the hand painted alive!
This new Treasury is awesome. Finally we don’t need to wait anymore… everybody can create one! I’ve tried to do it for months! Thanks Etsy… Next step: VARIABLES, eh?

Yesterday afternoon a friend of mine, Fabio, invited my husband and I to go to the beach. Nothing so special, at least for me. Ponta Negra is not a good beach. There are pollution and everything else… But, for Dexter, our 1-year-old Shih Tzu dog, it was amazing, because it was the first time he saw the sea!
So, I’m sharing some photos for those who love dogs or Shih Tzu fans.
Well… Do you have a dog too? Or would you love to have one? Do you like pets?
Anyway… Everything (thoughts or photos) you want to share with me, you can use the comment box bellow or just message me!

This is Eloise, a stylish character created by Kate Gabrielle. She’s an artist who I follow on Twitter (@flapperdoodle and @KateGabrielle).
When I was doodling in my sketchbook, for some reason I remembered her and did this drawing. Anyway, that’s the way I imagine Eloise.
PS.: I hope you like, Kate!

I hate waiting at the doctor’s office… I really do. Don’t you? So, I hate also being sick, because I know I have to see my doc. Well, there’s no problem with my doctor; the problem is spend hours sitting in a chair… waiting. And, the worst part of it? I was the last patience! Then, this impatient patience had to sketch a lot. This drawing above (colours are digital) is my favorite of them!
Reading this, you may ask: Tati, are you sick? Hmmmm… Not sick, in terms. I have been suffering from high cholesterol and triglycerides levels for a couple of years, and lately I’m feeling heartburns (funny word… it has nothing to do with my heart). But don’t worry, everything is fine now. My levels are normal, it’s not gastritis as I thought, I’m on a diet, taking medicines and doing exercises.

Keeping this blog updated… This is a personal illustration which I made last year, but recently painted. By the way, I just uploaded some more illustrations to the Gallery page. Oh, yeah… Finally I found my backup CDs, as well as my old drawings.
